About a week ago, I came across an article on the new hip and cool trend in nail polish. It was an extensive piece that detailed the new trend for fall -- dark (almost black) nail polish and short round nails. It said that all the cool kids (aka celebrities) were doing it and even had several pictures to prove it. I thought to myself there is no way I could pull that look off with my very fair skin but over the weekend I decided to go for it. Why not? I'm young and hip and cool, right? Well, if I did this it would prove that I was.
This morning, a friend and I made mani and pedi appointments for this evening after work. I was determined to walk out with dark and lovely nails to complement my cool girl attitude. I walked around the salon for five minutes surveying the options. I picked up and put back at least 40 different colors trying to find the perfect share of dark purplish black. I even try some out on my nails to make sure it would work. I finally settled on a color called midnight. I felt triumphant...
But then, I chicken out. Instead I got a medium colored purple that really isn't dark instead it looks more like the purple people eater or barney.
Another failed attempt to be young and hip.

LOL...no slave to fashion are you!!
OMG I found the perfect fall color for fair skin (I tan now, but am normally pastey) It's more of a dark (almost black) red.
I'll see if I can find out the color for you to try. Seriously, it's so pretty! :)
