So, at my office they have a company policy that the 3 newest employees have to plan the company holiday party. This year I happen to be one of the lucky 3.
Picture me rolling my eyes right now.
Like I don't have anything else to do with my time than plan a party for a bunch of ungrateful people that don't even want to go.
Ridiculous.

So what happens if your company doesn't hire any new people for a few years?
That is one nice thing about the gov't...our agency is too big for a party.
Are you serious? What a horrible plan. Well, horrible for the new employees, but good for the old ones.
So...what's the plan?
The plan is to make it as easy for us (the planning committee) as possible. We only interviewed two caterers and went with the second one. I'm in charge of the "game" and we're doing the old standby: "steal the gift" game. We also up'ed the bar package. The committee feels that the only way to get through this night is with lots and lots of alcohol.
